There’s a special connection that comes from raising your own fiber and dyeing, felting or spinning it to create something unique. It connects you to the process of turning fibers into fabric in a way that gives you more respect and reverence for the materials used, the process itself and a better appreciation of that history.

A bit about us:

Welcome to Cherry Run—urban farm and fiber arts studio! My fiber journey began years past simply as an idea to raise sheep, but in a moment of serendipity, I discovered alpacas and their luxurious fleece. Ten years ago, while looking at all those bags of raw fiber at my herd’s first shearing, my thought was “what do I do with this”? So, for the last ten years I have explored the technical, tactile and textile world of alpaca fiber (mostly) finally settling on the creative arts of hand spinning, felting and dyeing. I love the technical challenges of hand spinning to produce creative yarns; the feel of fiber becoming fabric; and the surprise of color. Here, you will find a variety of items from felted hats and other felted items to drop spindles to dyed roving, top and fiber batts. From a first or the latest shearing, each annual fiber collection is a new adventure as fleece changes over time resulting in our products being truly one-of-a-kind.
