Felting Needles

$7.50

A group of 6 felting needles. 4 sizes available. Packaged by gauge. Felting needles have small barbs at their point that catch fibers and entangle them, causing the fiber to compress (felt) as the needle is repeatedly poked through the fiber supply. The lower the needle number, the larger the diameter.

-The 36 gauge triangular needle is a heavy duty, general purpose needle. It is good for starting a piece, roughing out work or attaching new fiber.

-The 38* (cross star) needle is sturdy, good for sculptural work and faster felting.

-The 40 gauge triangular needle is best for detail work and felting fine fibers.

-The 42 gauge triangular needled is best for fine detail work and felting fine fibers.
